Daniel Ehis Aiguokhian, a Nigerian writer who attempted Guiness World Read for a WRITE-A-THON has given an account how two of his editors survived a fatal accident.
Aiguokhian, a 400 Level student of the Department of Philosophy, University of Calabar, said the accident involving Ibom Express Bus claimed the life of the driver at the spot but his editors survived it.
According to him, they were travelling from South South to South West part of the country.
In a Facebook post on December 5, 2024, the writer/editor who will be attempting a GWR for Longest EDIT-A-THON, wrote:
“This accident occurred on Monday this week, and two of the participants who participated as editors were inside this vehicle.
“It happened on Monday.
We got the news on Tuesday.
“The driver died at the spot.
“Others were injured severely.
“Our editors had no mark on their skin.
“But they came out from this same vehicle that was taking them to Ibadan.
“I don’t know what to say really. I don’t know how to thank God for the lives of these two people.
“Such a fatal accident, yet, nothing happened to them.
“This can only be God.
“As I write, we’ve confirmed that all participants have arrived at their various destination.
“Please, join us to thank God on behalf of these two editors.”
